BINDT Presents Apprenticeship Awards

November 9, 2009

NORTHAMPTON, UNITED KINGDOM - The British Institute of NDT presented no less than four Apprenticeship Certificate Diploma Awards at its recent conference in Blackpool.

The BINDT Apprenticeship in Engineering Inspection is designed to sit alongside the established Certification Schemes. It provides a mechanism whereby individuals can achieve a broad range of expertise within the inspection industry, which allows them to contribute more fully within their working environment.

Awards were presented to Ian Jones, Christopher Howson, Michael Hutchinson and David Dickinson at the Annual Dinner at NDT 2009.

The Institute encourages all forms of development and progression but, in order to complete the Apprenticeship, a minimum number of work modules must be satisfactorily completed within the prescribed time. A number of skills are suggested which are considered to be of relevance to the majority of individuals. However, other skills, pertinent to a particular employer/employee situation, may be substituted by prior arrangement with the BINDT Accreditation Panel. In this way an individual apprenticeship can be tailored to suit the requirements of the employing company whilst also being recognized by the inspection industry in general.
