Jim's Gems: Opportunities Abound

Does it seem to you that all the best opportunities have already been worked on? Actually, nothing could be further from the truth.

There are more valuable opportunities available today than there have ever been before. And they grow more numerous with each passing moment.

Each opportunity that is followed and fulfilled gives birth to even more opportunities. Not only are the best opportunities not running out, they are indeed growing in number and potential.

Opportunities arise from disappointment and failure, as well as from success. As knowledge, wisdom and experience grow, so too do opportunities.

Great challenges bring about great opportunities. Each breakthrough sets the stage for even greater challenges, leaving a trail of opportunities in their wake.

Your professional, as well as personal life, is truly overflowing with opportunities that apply to every aspect of life. You just need to open our mind and be willing to accept new opportunities, and be ready to reap the reward that can be yours.

A friend of mine who had a sail boat once told me that you can’t change the direction of the wind, but you can adjust your sails. Opportunities are much like the wind. We may have to make some adjustments to harness the power so it can be used to our advantage.

Think about it.

Jim's last couple sentences really hit home. I sail a bit but never really thought about adjusting the sails to catch the wind in this perspective; however, this was adaptly phrased. If we can just learn to do that we can generate a lot of energy. Shane

A Practical Field Guide for ISO 9001:2008

The purpose of this field guide is to assist organizations, step by step, in implementing a quality management system (QMS) in conformance with ISO 9001:2008, whether from scratch or by transitioning from ISO 9001:2000. It examines each sub-clause of Sections 4–8 of ISO 9001:2008, which contain the requirements, and gives a list of the documentation/documents required, internal audit questions, a summary of management’s responsibilities, and a flowchart of the steps that need to be undertaken to satisfy the requirements.
