Despite the economic outlook, U.S. manufacturing employees maintain confidence in the future of their companies. A survey of 90,000 manufacturing workers conducted by International Survey Research (ISR, Chicago) reveals that 56% of employees are not "worried about the company's future," an increase of five percentage points from a year ago.
In addition, 44% of those surveyed say their "companies are doing an effective job of responding to marketplace changes." Respondents say their companies accomplish this task primarily by focusing on efficiency.
