CLEVELAND, OH, November 14-The Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) has announced its new Next Generation Leadership Academy for the metalforming industry. The academy will expose new and emerging leaders to various departments within a metalforming company in order to gain an understanding of overall company operation.

In an ongoing series of face-to-face roundtable meetings and online seminars, members of PMA’s Next Generation Leaders Division will share their expertise with peers on a range of topics in an affordable and easy-to-understand format.

The first of the online seminars, “Accounting and Finance for Emerging Leaders in Metalforming Companies-What You Need to Know,” is scheduled for December 11, 2008, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time. Taught by CPA’s Robb McCoy, president/CEO of ART Technologies, and Bob Dobrowsky, partner at Plante & Moran, PLLC, participants will gain an understanding of the three basic financial statements-the income statement, the balance sheet and the statement of cash flows. They also will learn the importance of proper matching of revenues and expenses, and the differences between assets, liabilities and stockholders’ equity. In addition, the presenters will review the principles of return on investment and explain how to use this measurement when evaluating new business opportunities.

The cost of the seminar is $75 for PMA members and $200 for nonmembers. Registration deadline is December 9.
