Trescal Acquires ASSI Sistemas e Instrumentación S.L. in Spain

PARIS — Trescal, an international specialist in calibration services, acquired ASSI Sistemas e Instrumentación S.L., the Spanish calibration provider life science industries based in Barcelona, Spain.

This is the fifth acquisition in Spain and it expands Trescal’s geographical footprint to Catalonia. This acquisition has been completed with the support of Ardian, its majority shareholder.

Founded in 1995, ASSI offers Calibration, Validation, Qualification and Automation services. ASSI has a calibration laboratory in Barcelona, ENAC accredited in: temperature, humidity, pressure, mass, volume, angular velocity, electricity, time & frequency, dimensional and torque. ASSI employs 130 people and generates a turnover of €7.2 million.

Guillaume Caroit, Trescal deputy CEO, said, “This acquisition will boost Trescal development within life science segment where ASSI has been delivering high added value services for 23 years."

Josep Maria Cucurella ASSI CEO, said, “Merging a family business within a multinational group is a big challenge. It will ease ASSI access to the marketplace and to new customer segments."

This acquisition is the twenty-eighth acquisition since the change of ownership to Ardian in July 2013.
