We may not like it, but we have to deal with challenges most of our days. Overcoming some of the more difficult challenges just may be the most difficult obstacles in our journey through life, personal or professional.
Learning to overcome our challenges is what builds character and resilience. Every challenge and every obstacle we successfully confront in life serves to strengthen our confidence and ability to conquer future hurdles.
The secret is to confront the challenge and move past it. The sooner you deal with a difficult situation, the less time you'll spend living with it. The sooner you take advantage of the positive possibilities, the more time you'll spend enjoying the rewards of your actions.
The time to act, therefore, is as soon as you have the thought, intention and reason to act. Now is when you're clear about why, and now is when your passion is engaged, so put it to meaningful use.
Certainly you need to put care and consideration into what you are about to do! However, don't let care and consideration be the only thing you do. The sooner you take action, the more leverage you have. The sooner you take action, the more thorough and effective you can be.
The situation will likely not change by pretending it's something different or by wishing it away. It is certain that some challenges are greater than others, so they need to be treated as such. Jean-Baptiste Poquelin (better known as Molière), the noted 17th century French playwright, wrote, “The greater the obstacle, the more glory in overcoming it.” However, the situation, with little regard to the difficulty, will change when you act to make a difference. The time to do that is now.
Accept that challenges will occur in your life and things will become somewhat easier because worry, anxiety and difficulties that pile on top of difficulties will be lessened. To move beyond the challenges confronting you, take control, act positively and quickly, and make your world better by what you choose to do.
Rob Liano, a best-selling author and a well-known life coach, said “If you expect life to be easy, challenges will seem difficult. If you accept that challenges may occur, life will be easier.”
