Opportunity can be defined as a set of circumstances that make it possible to do something. Therefore, it contains an element of action, not inaction. Opportunity is not there to be stared at, speculated about or even admired. Opportunity is there to be used.

Opportunity is not something you wait for, or search for, or discover. Opportunity is something that is embraced and activated with actions!

Opportunity is not a free ride to fulfillment, success or wealth. It is but a starting point, and going forward requires work and commitment. Thomas Edison, one of the world’s most creative persons, said, “Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.” Maybe fear of the unknown or anticipated work is so powerful that it overrides our desire resulting in so many missed opportunities.

If you only open up your reticular activating system to expand your paradigm of thought, you will discover that more opportunity exists today than at any other time in history. In this very moment, people around the world are seizing opportunity and making the commitment to bring forward value to themselves and to society.

Milton Berle, one of the funniest entertainers, said “If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door." However, if you aren’t seeing opportunity it’s likely due to ignoring it, consciously or unconsciously. In every problem, in every desire, in every situation, you should discover a plethora of opportunities. Wherever it may be, whatever form it may take, to take advantage of opportunity you must expand your thought paradigms, recognize potential, remain positive, visualize outcomes but, above all, combine intention with effort.

Opportunity is abundant and it surrounds us all. Activate it, work it, and use it to make a big positive difference in your world. The secret, though, is to remain optimistic as you seek out opportunity.

Winston Churchill said, “A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” Move forward with confidence and a commitment to take on new opportunities that will certainly change your world.

Think about it…
