WINDSOR LOCKS, CT-Bombardier Aerospace has selected Hamilton Sundstrand Corp. as one of four recipients of Bombardier's 2010 Corporate Social Responsibility Awards and the Hamilton Sundstrand Puerto Rico facility as one of eight recipients of the new Bombardier Achieving Supplier Excellence, or BASE, recognition award. Hamilton Sundstrand is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp.

The BASE award recognized Hamilton Sundstrand's Puerto Rico Electronics Operations in achieving fact-based standards of high quality, delivery and competitiveness in 2010.

The Corporate Social Responsibility supplier recognition award evaluated suppliers on six areas of corporate responsibility, specifically: governing effectively; valuing employees; building responsible products; operating sustainably; engaging suppliers; and acting as a responsible citizen.

Hamilton Sundstrand President of Aerospace Customers and Business Development David Gitlin accepted the awards during the ceremony at Bombardier Aerospace's headquarters in Dorval, Quebec. "We are honored by this recognition from our valued customer, Bombardier Aerospace," said Gitlin. "It validates our efforts as a company to excel in meeting or exceeding our customers' needs while conducting our business in a socially responsible and sustainable way."
