Olympus NDT Acquires Pulsecho Inc.

Olympus NDT Inc. has acquired Pulsecho Inc., a distributor of nondestructive testing instruments located in Cobourg, Ontario, Canada. Pulsecho Inc. will be integrated into the Olympus sales distribution network as the direct supplier of its nondestructive testing instruments in the provinces of Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and Prince Edward Island. Dave Cornall, founder of Pulsecho Inc., will stay on as General Manager of the business.

The acquisition of Pulsecho Inc. demonstrates the ongoing commitment of Olympus NDT to provide first-rate product support and after-sales service to its many customers. Pulsecho Inc., previously known as Laser Fast and renamed in 2004, has over twenty years of experience in providing nondestructive testing products and solutions to customers in a wide variety of industries ranging from nuclear power to automotive, civil infrastructure, and component manufacturing. It will continue to distribute its current product portfolio that includes the following Olympus NDT brands: Panametrics-NDT™ UT flaw detectors and thickness gages, R/D Tech® UT, PA, and EC flaw detectors and systems, NDT Engineering probes, Sonic® UT flaw detectors, and Nortec® EC flaw detectors.

A Practical Field Guide for ISO 9001:2008

The purpose of this field guide is to assist organizations, step by step, in implementing a quality management system (QMS) in conformance with ISO 9001:2008, whether from scratch or by transitioning from ISO 9001:2000. It examines each sub-clause of Sections 4–8 of ISO 9001:2008, which contain the requirements, and gives a list of the documentation/documents required, internal audit questions, a summary of management’s responsibilities, and a flowchart of the steps that need to be undertaken to satisfy the requirements.
