Methods Machine Tools Opens Tech Center

WIXOM, MI-Methods Machine Tools hosted a grand opening at its Michigan Tech Center in Wixom. Customers observed demonstrations of machine tools, including machining centers, turning centers, electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment and robotic automation.

The new 36,000-square-foot facility houses a 6,000-square-foot showroom, an applications-engineering support staff, regional field service and training technicians, and a spare parts inventory. Located at 50531 Varsity Ct., Wixom, MI, the tech center positions Methods, a national supplier of precision machine tools, to serve the automotive industry, its suppliers, and other Midwest machine shops with advanced high-performance metalcutting and moldmaking machinery.

"Many U.S. companies have become disenchanted with the poor quality and long turnaround times associated with offshore manufacturing, and more and more of them are moving their manufacturing back to the United States," says Bryon Deysher, Methods' president. "But, to keep costs down, they'll need to find ways to produce parts faster and with less labor. Methods can help with both machines and automation."
