IMTS 2010 Issues Call for Speakers

CHICAGO - The Industry & Technology Conference at IMTS 2010 is taking shape, and the conference organizers have issued a "call for speakers" for anyone interested in making a presentation. GIE Media, the conference coordinator, is asking interested individuals to send in their presentations for review. To submit papers, please contact Tom Grasson, GIE's associate publisher and editorial director, at (330) 523-5391 or tgrasson@gie.net.

The conference will feature a wide range of industry-specific sessions focused on six topic tracks: materials engineering, machining technology & trends, alternative manufacturing processes, metrology, plant operations and rapid prototyping.

"When we were approached by the AMT to coordinate the conferences at IMTS 2010, our entire staff jumped onboard," Grasson says. "Based on our staff's cumulative experience of more than 100 years in manufacturing and publishing, we are very enthusiastic and eager to bring the most innovative technologies to the forefront and provide manufacturers from all industry sectors an opportunity to learn firsthand the importance and benefits stemming from technological advancements."

The conference will take place September 14 to17, 2010, in the McCormick Place West Building. For more information, visit www.imts.com.

The purpose of this field guide is to assist organizations, step by step, in implementing a quality management system (QMS) in conformance with ISO 9001:2008, whether from scratch or by transitioning from ISO 9001:2000. It examines each sub-clause of Sections 4–8 of ISO 9001:2008, which contain the requirements, and gives a list of the documentation/documents required, internal audit questions, a summary of management’s responsibilities, and a flowchart of the steps that need to be undertaken to satisfy the requirements.
