Rick Stavanja has been promoted to vice president and chief technology officer of Cyon Research Corp. (Bethesda, MD). In addition, Peter Marks was elected to Cyon's board of directors. Cyon Research Corp. provides analysis and consulting for engineering technology markets.

Tom Miller has been named chairman of the board for AIM Inc., the global trade association representing the automatic identification and data collection industry.

William Amstutz has been named vice president of marketing for Akrion (Allentown, PA), a provider of surface-preparation solutions to the semiconductor industry.

Derek Coppinger has neen named national sales manager for National Technical Systems Inc. (Calabasas, CA). The company is an integrated engineering solutions company providing a full range of outsourced product testing, conformity assessment and management system registration services.

George Reyher was named account manager for FKI logistex Alvey Systems (St. Louis) for the Latin American market.

A Practical Field Guide for ISO 9001:2008

The purpose of this field guide is to assist organizations, step by step, in implementing a quality management system (QMS) in conformance with ISO 9001:2008, whether from scratch or by transitioning from ISO 9001:2000. It examines each sub-clause of Sections 4–8 of ISO 9001:2008, which contain the requirements, and gives a list of the documentation/documents required, internal audit questions, a summary of management’s responsibilities, and a flowchart of the steps that need to be undertaken to satisfy the requirements.
