The Cube Squared is a handheld device that quickly and accurately aligns the cube on coordinate measuring machine (CMM) adapter plates. Many CMMs use adapter plates, which have a threaded cube from which styli can protrude. The cube can be rotated, allowing the styli to point at any angle. During setup, CMM programmers often want the cube aligned square to the machine’s axes of motion. The device simulates the CMM’s probe head alignment system. The cube is squared to the CMM’s X-, Y- and Z-axes in one minute or less. No other tools are required.
