Sister Companies Open U.S. Office

ALMELO, THE NETHERLANDS-The U.S. teams of sister companies PANalytical and Malvern now share facilities in Westborough, MA. PANalytical is a supplier of analytical instrumentation and software for X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF). Malvern provides analytical instruments used to characterize a variety of materials. “As well as growing our business across the Americas, we have consolidated former east and west coast sites and have relocated our warehouse to Westborough,” says Peter van Velzen, managing director of PANalytical.

The move has also made PANalytical able to expand its application laboratories, which now include a cleanroom for wafer analyzers, a sample prep room and application labs for XRD and XRF. In addition, there is an optical emission spectrometer from OBLF, for which PANalytical is the exclusive distributor in the United States and Brazil.

Malvern has similarly expanded its applications and training facilities. “This move reflects the continued growth and success of the company, and also the expansion of the business in recent years to encompass a broadening range of technologies and instrumentation for materials characterization,” says managing director Paul Walker. “These new premises provide the infrastructure and facilities to underpin our future.”

The purpose of this field guide is to assist organizations, step by step, in implementing a quality management system (QMS) in conformance with ISO 9001:2008, whether from scratch or by transitioning from ISO 9001:2000. It examines each sub-clause of Sections 4–8 of ISO 9001:2008, which contain the requirements, and gives a list of the documentation/documents required, internal audit questions, a summary of management’s responsibilities, and a flowchart of the steps that need to be undertaken to satisfy the requirements.
