AICON Acquires Majority Share in German Breuckmann GmbH

MEERSBURG, GERMANY-AICON 3D Systems GmbH has acquired an 80% interest in Breuckmann GmbH. The shares were previously held by the Austrian voestalpine Group. Dr. Bernd Breuckmann, founder and former owner-manager, retains a 20% share. The brand Breuckmann GmbH will continue and the company headquarters in Meersburg will be maintained.

Breuckmann GmbH is a global manufacturer of high-value optical systems for three-dimensional non-contact measurement, digitization and inspection. AICON and Breuckmann have worked in very close collaboration since 1995. The merging of the two companies upholds the successful companies' development and offers a clear competitive advantage. Breuckmann's product range ideally complements the AICON portfolio so AICON now operates in the market as a full-range supplier of 3D metrology systems. Cooperation in development, production and sales; subsidiaries in Asia and America; global dealer networks and two convenient locations in Germany, Braunschweig in Lower Saxony and Meersburg in Baden-Wuerttemberg, provide further synergy potential.

Sixty-five-year-old Dr. Bernd Breuckmann, who retired from active business in April 2012, says he is convinced that his lifework is now in good hands and will be successfully continued by AICON. Dr. Carl-Thomas Schneider and Dr. Werner Bösemann.

It examines each sub-clause of Sections 4–8 of ISO 9001:2008, which contain the requirements, and gives a list of the documentation/documents required, internal audit questions, a summary of management’s responsibilities, and a flowchart of the steps that need to be undertaken to satisfy the requirements.
