Once you're up and running, keep going. Once you've worked to establish some momentum, make the most of it.

Don't stop when you've done just enough. With a little extra effort, you can achieve so much more.

You've spent a lot of time and effort getting to where you are. If you stop now you'll have to put even more effort into getting started again.

Keep going until you've far surpassed what you expected to do. Surprise and delight yourself with how much more you can get accomplished.

When you've already done what's good enough, that puts you in a great position. It's more effective to reach higher when you're already moving higher.

Momentum is an unstoppable force. Once you've got it, keep using it, and keep going until you're amazed at what you've done.

What separates the ordinary from the extraordinary is that little extra. Find that little extra and be amazed at the results.

Effort

I am reminded of the stone cutter who strikes the stone 99 times with nothing happening but on the 100th time the stone breaks. Was that due to the 100th strike or the previous 99? The point that Jim makes is similar. Giving that extra effort will pay off for us. RH

A Practical Field Guide for ISO 9001:2008

The purpose of this field guide is to assist organizations, step by step, in implementing a quality management system (QMS) in conformance with ISO 9001:2008, whether from scratch or by transitioning from ISO 9001:2000. It examines each sub-clause of Sections 4–8 of ISO 9001:2008, which contain the requirements, and gives a list of the documentation/documents required, internal audit questions, a summary of management’s responsibilities, and a flowchart of the steps that need to be undertaken to satisfy the requirements.
