Obituary: Norm Leduc, CEO of Vermont Precision Tools

SWANTON, VT-Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Vermont Precision Tools Norman C. Leduc, 67, died January 22, 2009, in Burlington, MA.

Born in Saint Albans, VT, on April 14, 1941, Leduc was the son of the late John and Doris (Menard) Leduc. He attended Saint Albans schools and on January 26, 1963, married the former Cecile Bechard who predeceased him on January 17, 1988. He faithfully served his country in the Vermont Air National Guard, receiving his honorable discharge on October 16, 1965.

Leduc was the co-founder and chief executive officer of Vermont Precision Tools in Swanton, VT, as well as its subsidiary, Vermont Thread Gage, located in Franklin, KY. In 1985 Leduc, along with his wife, became the owners of the former Pines Restaurant in Highgate Springs, which they operated until after her death in 1988.

An active and dedicated member of the Swanton community, Leduc was a member of the Swanton chamber of commerce and served as secretary, vice president and president for six years and was awarded the Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award in 1989.

A Practical Field Guide for ISO 9001:2008

The purpose of this field guide is to assist organizations, step by step, in implementing a quality management system (QMS) in conformance with ISO 9001:2008, whether from scratch or by transitioning from ISO 9001:2000. It examines each sub-clause of Sections 4–8 of ISO 9001:2008, which contain the requirements, and gives a list of the documentation/documents required, internal audit questions, a summary of management’s responsibilities, and a flowchart of the steps that need to be undertaken to satisfy the requirements.
