COLUMBUS, OH - The American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) is developing a new Programmed Instruction series for radiographic testing in six volumes. This series will expand on information previously presented in the General Dynamics Programmed Instruction series.

ASNT is searching for qualified authors who will be responsible for organizing information to include all topics covered in Recommended Practice No. SNT-TC-1A for Levels I and II. ASNT will provide authors with SNT-TC-1A outlines, as well as the most recent edition of the NDT Handbook on radiographic testing for the selection of images to accompany the text. We are very interested in incorporating new, high quality images for this series and will assist you in requesting permission to use images that are not your own. Authors will also be given the new RT Classroom Training Book that should complement the text in the Programmed Instruction series.

The selected author(s) will be responsible for updating the self-paced instructional text from the General Dynamics series using an interactive style that guides the reader through the material in a question-extended answer mode. Author(s) will also need to develop end-of-chapter review questions and a self-test per volume.

Anticipated volumes in this series include:
Radiographic physics and principles
Radiation safety
Radiographic equipment
Making a radiograph
Radiographic film and imagers
Radiographic interpretation

If you are interested in accepting the role of author for this exciting and much-needed new series, please send your information regarding area(s) of expertise, estimated time for completion and your fee to Educational Materials Editor Bob Conklin at [email protected] or call (800) 222-2768 x235.
