Jim's Gems: Make Self Talk Work For You

Our expectation have an influence on every action we take. In every result we obtain, our expectations play a significant role. Read on and consider the following thoughts:

Our expectations will not, by themselves, cause anything to happen! However, our expectations can have a major impact on what we cause to happen.

When we truly and fully expect to succeed, every aspect of our lives becomes aligned in the direction of that success. When we've convinced ourselves that we can get it done, we are well on the way to making it happen.

Though many people may speak to us today, no one will talk to us as much as we talk to ourselves. Make self-talk consistently positive and it will present enormous opportunities.

Throughout the day, over and over again, we have the chance to tell ourselves what to expect. So, as each moment goes by, we need to keep reminding ourselves to expect the best, most positive outcome we can possibly imagine.

As our expectations grow stronger and become more firmly entrenched, we'll discover more and more ways to make them real. Choose to expect the best of yourself, so that every fiber of your being is focused toward the achievement you desire.

By our efforts, those expectations will surely come to life. Denis Waitley said "relentless, repetitive self-talk is what changes our self-image." The trick is to make this self-talk consistently positive. It can be a strong ally so we need to make it work for us.

Title: Opportunities

Opportunities are there everyday if we can just recognize them and make the most of each one. Self-talk can help motivate us to do just that. I found this commentary to be very insightful. Thanks, Kristine.

Title: Our choice

"Choose to expect the best of yourself, so that every fiber of your being is focused toward the achievement you desire." I loved this quote and want to edit it to put on my office wall. It will say "I choose to expect the best of myself, so that every fiber of my being is focused toward the achievement I desire." Thanks so much for helping me clearly see that success is, at least partially, left up to me. I so look forward to each of your commentaries. Justine.

Title: Helpful Hints

This column was full of helpful hints. Personally I've used self-talk for motivation, especially when I need that extra confidence. It does work. Tina
