CogniTens and InnovMetric Software Announce Software Distribution Agreement

WIXOM, MI - CogniTens, a Hexagon Metrology company, and InnovMetric Software announced the signature of a software distribution agreement in the areas of polygon meshing and reverse engineering. As part of this cooperation, CogniTens will offer its global customers InnovMetric’s PolyWorks/Modeler software embedded with CogniTens’ Optigo and OptiCell 3-D optical measurement systems. The companies are committed to working together to offer a seamless solution to best address the needs of their joint customer base.

Marc Soucy, president of InnovMetric Software Inc, says, “Using PolyWorks/Modeler will enable the new Optigo 200 RE system users to benefit from increased accuracy and rendering of their polygon meshes while preserving all the details and features captured by the CogniTens 3D measurement systems. In addition, our common users will benefit from a better integrated workflow.”

“We are pleased with the establishment of this partnership with InnovMetric, and believe that by combining our unique technologies we’ll be able offer a superior class of metrology-driven polygon meshing capabilities,” said Dr. Danny Albeck, General Manager of CogniTens. “The automotive and aerospace industries are eager to see innovations in leveraging white light measurement technologies to produce high-quality and comprehensive 3-D feedback to product design and detailed analysis, and using STL as a common format. We expect that leveraging the PolyWorks software to process the rich measurement results and 3D digitized data produced by our systems will generate significant advantages for our customers.”
