Mitutoyo America Corp. (Aurora, IL) purchased Nelson Precision Inc. (Mason, OH), a manufacturing measurement systems integrator. All Nelson Precision employees will remain with the company, including Robert Sand who will continue as president and chief executive officer.

This company defines its customers' needs and quickly creates unique, workable solutions," said a Mitutoyo spokesperson. "We will not hamper that spirit but will encourage it and expect to see it spread throughout our organization."

Sand said that Mitutoyo will not be involved in the day-to-day operations of Nelson Precision, but it will provide financial backing and other assistance that will allow the company to grow while offering more cost-effective solutions for its customers.
