Over the years I had not given this topic of ASQ’s future studies much thought until I received a gut punch of reality in October 2015. That was the year of the first Quality Show.

Since 1996, ASQ has published seven Future of Quality reports. The purpose of the report has always been to challenge the reader’s current ideas and expectations, open him or her to new opportunities, and spark action.

The quality profession has existed for nearly three-quarters of a century. In 1946, quality professionals rallied together to create the American Society for Quality Control.
