MAPLE GROVE, MN-Industrial metrology provider Carl Zeiss IMT Corp. has announced an agreement with Italian metrology company Coord3 Industries to purchase and market its gantry coordinate measuring machine (CMM) frames integrated with Carl Zeiss technology in North America. The collaboration between the two companies began in early 2004 with a contract for a development and distribution venture.

“Combining the Coord3 Gantry CMM frame with Carl Zeiss sensor, software and controller technology results in an optimum price-performance package for our customers,” says Chris Grow, vice president of marketing, Carl Zeiss IMT Corp.

This new partnership will help Carl Zeiss meet the demand for bridge-type gantry machines, which are used to inspect large dies, molds and wind energy components.

“We are proud to join forces with Carl Zeiss IMT,” says Angelo Muscarella, chief executive officer of Coord3 Industries. “It gives us an opportunity to partner with a technology leader, expand our presence through an excellent sales and distribution network and reach customers in growing key markets.”
