Peter Engberg Takes Top Role at Exova in Sweden

Global testing company Exova appointed Peter Engberg as divisional managing director of its specialist calibration and metrology division, Exova Metech AB and its Swedish materials testing and advisory business, Exova Materials Technology AB.

Engberg joins from Sweden’s skills agency, Industrikompetens, where as chief executive officer he worked with over 200 industrial companies, supporting the development of critical technical and engineering skills to create and retain talent in the region.

He also brings a strong background in the aerospace and defence sector, having worked with Saab for 18 years in roles across a variety of divisions. These included production director for the fourth generation fighter programme, Gripen Saab AB, managerial roles in Saab Aerostructures, and leading the establishment of Saab Aeronautics in South Africa as general manager.

Commenting on the appointment, Paul Barry, managing director Europe for Exova, said: “Peter has had an outstanding career spanning all aspects of aerospace from operational to general management, and has led teams delivering programmes for industry giants such as Boeing and Airbus. His experience and network of industry connections will be invaluable in growing our business and delivering support to customers across Scandinavia and Northern Europe.”

Engberg has a degree in mechanical engineering from the Institute of Technology, University of Linköping. He will be based in Exova’s laboratory in Linköping, Sweden.
