In manufacturing, quality is frequently synonymous with product quality. Continuous improvement projects and initiatives tend to aim to reduce waste and defects.

Several years ago I was inspecting some parts on a small surface plate in the quality lab. Gathered around a larger surface plate a few feet away was an assortment of engineers, supervisors, leads persons, and probably an inspector or two.

Thousands of Quality industry professional gathered to launch The Quality Show back in late October in Rosemont, IL.

Since 2010, ASQ has been pleased to host the World Quality Month website, offering organizations around the world an opportunity to celebrate successes and share results for others to learn from.

Years in the making, the ISO 9001:2015 revision has been published. Prior to the release date, auditors, inspectors, quality managers, and many others studied the initial drafts in an attempt to understand the changes.

Many companies have established incoming inspection to measure, evaluate, or audit purchased components and raw material to ensure conformance to quality standards and performance requirements.

The Quality Show, billed as the only trade show and conference focused exclusively on quality education, technology, equipment, and products, will take place October 27-29, 2015, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL.
