Phil Trach, NDT Technical Coordinator at Laboratory Testing Inc., has been approved as a nondestructive testing (NDT) MIL-STD-2132 Examiner in contact ultrasonic testing. He also holds MIL-STD-2132 Examiner certification in immersion ultrasonic testing, which he earned in 2009.

Bureau Veritas, an NDT inspection and certification company headquartered in Paris, has acquired Mumbai-based Sievert India, a non-destructive testing and related industrial inspection services provider in India and West Asia.

The Dimensional Metrology Standards Consortium (DMSC) has formally approved four technical specifications that will standardize three critical digital information exchange interfaces for model-based manufacturing quality measurement. These technical specifications have been submitted to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for standardization and will be known collectively as the Quality Information Framework (QIF) v1.0 .
