GREENVILLE, SC — The Metrology Solutions Expo to be held on May 2-3 at the TD Convention Center in Greenville, SC, is growing.

This trade show is the only event in the southeastern United States focused exclusively on metrology equipment and systems used for assuring and improving manufacturing quality. The event boasts over 50,000 square feet of exhibitors, and will attract executives, managers, engineers, technicians and purchasers responsible for production and quality control in all types of manufacturing.

Led by Zeiss Industrial Metrology, Mahr, Mitutoyo, Starrett and ViciVision; more than 40 global leaders in precision measuring instruments, robotics, and production automation systems will be joined by a line-up of training instructors and keynote speakers throughout the two-day event.

Chris Downs, assistant director for strategic analytics at The Association for Manufacturing Technology will deliver the lunch time keynote speech on May 2. Downs' speech, entitled “Onward and Upward: The Machine Tool Market for the Coming Year," will highlight imminent changes in the manufacturing industry and important steps companies are taking to remain leaders in a new era of manufacturing.

Andy Larson, unit manager of Cross Company Robotics & Machine Automation, will take the stage on Thursday, giving his keynote speech “A New Breed of Automation: Metrology and Production with Collaborative Robots."

Larson will cover how collaborative automation is changing the way manufacturers address the growing challenges of finding production staff, the increased demand for production data, and adding automation to existing processes.

“The size of this show and the sheer number of inquiries we have had, from both attendees and exhibiting companies, is indicative of the transformation happening right now in industrial manufacturing,” states Dan Carter, president of show host, MSI-Viking Gage. “We are living in an era of enormous technology advances in production processes. This show will expose manufacturing engineers and professionals to emerging technologies in the specialized field of manufacturing metrology.”

The Metrology Solutions Expo will also feature a complete line-up of training classes taught by industry experts from presenting companies Zeiss, Mahr, Mitutoyo and Starrett. The classes are especially designed to attract aspiring students, technicians, and engineers interested in the growing career opportunities and future of manufacturing.

Amid the many high-tech exhibits, there will also be some fun. Joe Gibbs Racing will exhibit the No. 18 M&Ms car and attendees will have an opportunity to test their driving skills in the JGR simulator pod. Exhibiting companies Mahr and MSI-Viking Gage are both technology sponsors of the Joe Gibbs Racing Team. Additionally, show guests can enter to win a Zeiss Racing desk chair, binoculars, JGR racing memorabilia, and many more prizes.
