Firth Rixson Ltd. (Sheffield, UK), a provider of engineered forged cast and other specialty metal products, has signed an agreement to begin construction on a 50,000-square-foot plant to be built near Shanghai, China. Kevin Myers has been promoted to vice president,

Author and quality strategist Subir Chowdhury was

awarded an honorary doctorate of engineering by Michigan Technological University. Chowdhury is chairman and chief executive officer of ASI Consulting Group (Livonia, MI).
