The MagnaRay is a wavelength dispersive X-ray spectrometer (WDS) that automatically combines energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) results with WDS operations. Integrated with the EDS Noran System 7, the spectrometer determines the elements to be analyzed simultaneous to the EDS collecting the data. The benefit of combining EDS and WDS is that both the elements in a sample as well as their quantitative values can be identified. Integration with the Noran System 7 software means that EDS operators are already trained for WDS analyses. Noran System 7 can be combined with the spectrometer, offering better EDS/WDS qualitative, quantitative and X-ray imaging capabilities.
