OTTAWA, CANADA - e2v, a designer and manufacturer of industrial imaging sensors and cameras, and Pleora Technologies Inc., provider of video connectivity solutions, today announced a partnership agreement whereby e2v will employ Pleora’s iPORT eBUS Universal and Optima Drivers to communicate with e2v’s industrial inspection cameras featuring GigE (Gigabit Ethernet) interfaces.

Christophe Robinet, strategic marketing manager for industrial imaging products at e2v says, “This agreement enables e2v to ensure the smooth integration of our GigE cameras in any system, and through this partnership, we can accelerate the development of cameras with advanced GigE features and more quickly satisfy growing customer demand for high-performance, standards-compliant GigE connectivity."

“This agreement is a real positive because it allows both our companies to focus on what we do best,” says Sebastien Dignard, business manager for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at Pleora Technologies. “Pleora’s iPORT solution is recognised for its field-proven reliability, real-time performance, and rich feature set, so it’s an excellent fit for the high-end cameras e2v offers.”

e2v’s flagship line of AViiVA line scan industrial cameras will be the first to incorporate Pleora’s GigE video connectivity technology. Effective immediately, Pleora’s iPORT drivers will be offered with the AViiVA UM2 GE series. Future GigE e2v line scan cameras, starting with the EM 1GEV series, part of the newly announced AViiVA II range, will also benefit from Pleora’s iPORT driver solution.

e2v cameras equipped with iPORT technology will comply fully with the GigE Vision and GenICam standards. GigE Vision is a standard for image transfer and device control managed by the Automated Imaging Association. GenICam is generic camera control interface standard managed by the European Machine Vision Association.
