L. L. “Buddy” Cressionnie is Chair of the SAE G-14 Americas Aerospace Quality Standards Committee (AAQSC) and AAQSC leader of requirements, projects and AS9100. He is active in standards development as a liaison member to ISO Technical Committee 176 Working Group 24 in writing ISO 9001:2015 and Work Group 22 on ISO 9001:2015 Interpretations. Cressionnie worked for more than 30 years in aviation, space and defense and is a certified AS9100, AS9110 and AS9120 aerospace-experienced auditor.
The AS9100D transition timeline is moving towards mandatory assessments to the 2016 revision. Much has occurred since fall 2016 including the AS9100-series standard release, auditor training, certification body approval, and, of course, organizational implementation.
