Dr. Herman Tang

Dr. Herman Tang is a distinguished professor in the School of Engineering at Eastern Michigan University, bringing over 16 years of industry experience to his academic role. He specializes in mechanical, manufacturing, and quality engineering and is the author of five technical books, including Quality Planning and Assurance: Principles, Approaches, and Methods for Product and Service Development (Wiley, 2022).

Dr. Tang has directed EMU’s Master of Science in Quality Management and Graduate Certificate in Lean Six Sigma programs for over 10 years. He also serves as a journal associate editor, paper reviewer, and panelist for the National Science Foundation. Dr. Tang earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor and an MBA in Industrial Management from Baker College.
