InnovMetric Software Inc. and Minolta Corp. have entered into an agreement.

QUEBEC-InnovMetric Software Inc. (Quebec) and Minolta Corp. entered into an agreement whereby Minolta will offer InnovMetric's PolyWorks point cloud inspection and reverse-engineering software solution in conjunction with Minolta's VIVID line of 3D digitizers. Minolta will market PolyWorks primarily to the castings inspection market.

"The combination of Minolta's VIVID 910 3D digitizer and Poly-Works produces highly accurate polygonal models of scanned objects," says Martin Chader, a business unit manager at Minolta.

PolyWorks/Inspector uses high-density point clouds to measure and control the quality of castings, dies and molds and to approve manufacturing processes through prototype, first-article, manufactured, and assembled parts inspection. Minolta has produced VIVID line of 3D digitizers since 1996, and is currently producing the fourth generation of this 3D product.
