SAN DIEGO-ShopMatch has launched a Web marketplace for manufacturing services at www.shopmatch.com. The Web site matches up job shops with manufacturing companies and engineers looking to create custom parts. The site simplifies the process of distributing, collecting and analyzing request for quotations (RFQs). Along with the RFQ, buyers submit part and delivery information, as well as request qualifications and attributes for potential suppliers. Matches are made based on supplier skills and capability and can be refined by additional criteria such as location, special services offered and minority ownership.
