Congressman Richard Burr of North Carolina was awarded the National Association of Manufacturers Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence in recognition of his support of American manufacturers and their employees.

Stacy L. Oxley has been named the quality and certification manager for the Automotive Industry Action Group. In this position, she will be responsible for all quality and certification training programs.

The Manufacturing Execution Systems Association has welcomed seven new members to the association: CMG Thijssen (the Netherlands), Entegreat Inc. (Birmingham, AL), GE Fanuc (Charlottesville, VA), GenRad Europe (Cheshire, England), HMS Software Inc. (Concord, MA), Integrated Business Systems and Services Inc. (Columbia, SC) and Wonderware (Irvine, CA).

Charles F. Knight has been selected for an honorary membership to the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. The designation is the association's highest tribute. As CEO of Emerson (formerly known as Emerson Electric Co.), Knight helped the company evolve from primarily domestic producer into a global manufacturer recognized for developing innovative technology-driven products.
