INDIANAPOLIS-Major Tool & Machine, an engineering, fabrication and machining services company, has announced plans to launch a $20 million expansion of operations, build 150,000 square feet of new plant facilities and add approximately 50 new jobs in Indianapolis.

The company’s growth is being accelerated in part due to its recent win of a five-year contract to manufacture steel centrifuge casings for USEC’s new American Centrifuge Plant in Piketon, OH.

J. Stephen Weyreter, president and CEO of Major Tool & Machine, says, “This is a proud day in our company’s 60-year history. The growth of our business and our partnership with the city of Indianapolis and the state of Indiana, allow Major Tool & Machine to add approximately 50 highly skilled professional and front-line jobs here in Indianapolis-a 20% increase in our workforce; expand our operational space by 150,000 square feet-50% more than we have now; and to greatly boost the capabilities, efficiency and capacity of our services as part of Major Tool’s more than $20 million investment in this effort.”
