COLUMBIA, MD-The testing and calibration laboratories of BYK-Gardner, worldwide partner of the automotive, paint and plastic industries for quality control of color, appearance and physical properties, have been accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2005 by ACLASS.

ACLASS, one of two brands of the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board, provides accreditation for ISO/IEC 17025 testing and calibration laboratories. ACLASS is recognized by ILAC, APLAC, and IAAC as a signatory of multilateral recognition arrangements that facilitate acceptance of test and calibration data internationally.

The scope of accreditation includes all instruments and standards in the following product groups.

  • Gloss: all instruments, e.g. micro-gloss
  • Color: all instruments, e.g. spectro-guide, BYK-mac and three-angle instruments
  • Haze: all instruments, e.g. haze-gard
  • Transmission: all instruments, e.g. haze-gard
  • Clarity: all instruments, e.g. haze-gard
  • Wave: all instruments, e.g. wave-scan

    BYK-Gardner USA and BYK-Gardner GmbH both received accreditation, which insures the competence of the technical staff, the test methods, the quality system and the management system used to certify all instruments in the scope according to ISO/IEC 17025.
