AHRENSBURG – Basler Vision Technologies has released its financial report for the first half of 2008. As in previous years, the Basler Components business unit showed very positive development. Turnover increased by 12% to EUR 14.9 million. Incoming orders reached EUR 17.4 million, which represents a growth of 20% compared to the same period last year. For the first half of the year, the segment’s earnings before interest and taxes remained at the previous year's level of EUR 2.0 million. The components business remains a growth driver within the Basler Group.

Basler manufactures industrial cameras and has set an optimum course for future growth. Again this year, Basler introduced many new camera models, which extended its product portfolio. Moreover, Basler entered the IP camera market in May 2008 and introduced an IP camera series for surveillance applications.

At the group level, Basler ended the first half of 2008 with EUR 27.2 million in turnover (1st half 2007: EUR 24.4 million). The group's earnings before taxes amounted to EUR 1.6 million (1st half 2007: EUR 0.2 million).
