Point Grey Research Announces Distributor in Taiwan
RICHMOND, CANADA-Point Grey Research Inc., maker of digital camera systems, has announced the appointment of machine vision camera distributor Apo Star Co. Ltd. as its sole distributor in Taiwan.
Headquartered in Taipei City, Apo Star will market, sell and support all Point Grey products in Taiwan, including its line of IEEE-1394 (FireWire) and USB 2.0 cameras.
“We are excited to join Point Grey’s growing network of distributors in Asia,” says Ng Ser Guan, general manager of Apo Star. “Over the last three years, we have built strong relationships with many of Taiwan’s biggest inspection and automation companies, research institutes and universities. We will continue to cultivate these relationships, and introduce our customers to Point Grey’s high-quality, cost-effective digital camera products.”
“Point Grey has already seen significant growth in Taiwan since Apo Star began distributing our products in May 2008,” says Vladimir Tucakov, director of sales and marketing at Point Grey Research. “The trend of converting from analog to digital cameras is very strong there. Having an experienced and service-oriented local company like Apo Star that can help convert customers to Point Grey products is a huge asset.”
With immediate effect, Apo Star Co. Ltd., managed by Ng Ser Guan, will be the first point of contact and will handle all product inquiries, orders and technical support for Point Grey’s customers in Taiwan.
