KARLSRUHE, GERMANY--Edmund Optics, a provider of optical components, is pleased to announce the appointment of Volker Schmidt to its global sales team. Schmidt's extensive knowledge and experience will be an asset to the direct sales team of Edmund Optics Europe. Volker Schmidt will represent EO at its customers in selected parts of Europe and be responsible for many of its key accounts.   

 

Schmidt holds a diploma degree in mechanical engineering and fine mechanics as well as a Master of business administration from the University of Giessen. Prior to his employment at Edmund Optics, Volker Schmidt worked for SCHOTT and Ohara Deutschland, where he held various managerial positions in sales and key account management.
