LONDON, UK – Element Materials Technology has appointed John R. Nelson as its new Executive Vice President (EVP), Transportation & Industrials, supporting the company’s sustained, ambitious growth strategy within the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) sector.

John joins Element with an exceptionally strong Testing sector reputation in operational excellence and continual improvement. His 17-year track record in driving organizational growth and strong financial performance comes as a result of highly successful leadership positions held at Bureau Veritas Inspectorate and quality management background with Intertek.

Charles Noall, President and CEO of Element, comments: “John’s appointment represents a major coup for Element and is a clear signal of our continued intent to become the world’s most trusted testing partner. His ability to deliver results and provide strategic vision within the Transportation and Industrials sectors will play an enormous role in helping us to realize our ambitious, sustained growth plans and build on our ever-increasing reputation in the TIC industry.”

Element’s new EVP, Transportation & Industrials, John R. Nelson, says: “I’m extremely proud to be joining the Element team, having witnessed the company’s extraordinary transformation over the past four years to become a truly world-class testing partner. I look forward to working closely with the senior leadership team and experts across Element’s global platform, given my experience of the overwhelming culture of togetherness that exists here since day one. My focus now is to accelerate Element’s continual operational improvement to increase On Time Delivery (OTD) and Turnaround Time (TAT) performance, as well as further expansion of our testing capabilities to meet our clients’ most critical needs.”

John assumed his new role on March 16, with his appointment following the retirement of previous EVP, Transportation & Industrials, Chris LaMothe, who joined Element at the time of their acquisition of Sherry Testing Laboratories and spent two highly successful years helping to build Element’s position as one of the fastest-growing TIC service companies in the world.
