Smart Vision Lights (SVL) announced that Steve Kinney is moving into a new role as the Director of Engineering.

Kinney brings more than 20 years of machine vision knowledge and experience in cameras, software, and lighting to Smart Vision Lights where he first headed Sales in the Western region before becoming Director of Engineering. Instrumental in the development of the machine vision industry, Kinney has also chaired AIA’s Camera Link Standard Committee and has been an instructor with AIA’s basic and advanced Certified Vision Professional (CVP) training programs.

In today’s machine vision marketplace, having the right people in the right place is crucial. Innovation is moving at a tremendously fast pace in automation, especially in machine vision and inspection. To set a pace for the market, key technology suppliers such as Smart Vision Lights are investing in plant, equipment, and people. This also brings me full circle because I have an extensive engineering and machine vision background,” says Kinney.
