PLANO, TX-Siemens PLM Software, a business unit of the Siemens Industry Automation Division and a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services, announced the customer speaker list for the upcoming 2010 Digital Manufacturing Symposium, scheduled for September 15 and 16 in Chicago at McCormick Place.

This year's event brings together a wide variety of manufacturing executives, industry experts and technology leaders to explore the latest solutions, successes, best practices and future directions in digital manufacturing. Attendees will hear several customers, from a cross section of industries, describe in their own words how they dealt with common manufacturing issues and created a competitive advantage through the application of digital manufacturing technology. Companies delivering presentations this year include Applied Manufacturing Technologies, ARC Advisory Group, DMG/Mori Seiki, Honda of America, Index, Speroni SpA, ThyssenKrupp and Zollner Electronic Inc.

"The goal of the Digital Manufacturing Symposium is to showcase how innovative manufacturers are increasing productivity, optimizing their production strategies and more efficiently leveraging their capital investments through the use of Siemens PLM Software's digital manufacturing software solutions," said Tom Hoffman, director of Tecnomatix Product Marketing, Siemens PLM Software. "Participants will hear from some of the world's most prestigious companies and learn how they are using the Tecnomatix software digital manufacturing suite and NX CAM software to improve productivity."

"The Digital Manufacturing Symposium is an excellent opportunity to network with other successful companies, and share knowledge and experience about how and why Siemens PLM Software's Tecnomatix digital manufacturing solutions help companies succeed," said Markus Aschenbrenner, CEO, Zollner Electronic Inc. "Tecnomatix has been instrumental in helping Zollner increase productivity -- with a special focus on significantly reducing cycle-times, work-in-progress and inventory. Leveraging Tecnomatix enabled us to show one of our customers several different scenarios for the production of their products as well as the flexibility and productivity of our manufacturing systems. As a result, we were able to convince the customer that Zollner was the best partner for their needs. We look forward to exchanging success stories like this one at the symposium."

In addition to customer presentations, keynote speaker Aric Newhouse, Senior Vice President of government relations and policy with the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), and former chief of staff for Senator George V. Voinovich of Ohio, will discuss the future of manufacturing in the United States and the importance of productivity and efficiency.
