MAPLE GROVE, MN — Zeiss Industrial Metrology brings measuring service and programming expertise to the Boston area with the grand opening of its new service center.

"The opening of this facility is yet another investment made by Zeiss to offer a true solution-based approach for local manufacturers. We are excited to expand our local presence by offering contract measuring services, support, training and project management for customers in the Northeast," said Al Chiasson, the general manager of Carl Zeiss Metrology Services, Inc.

"This 2,700 square-foot facility in Marlborough, MA allows us to be closer to our customers in this region while providing local support," said Doug Fitzgerald, manager of the Marlborough service facility. "Not only does this facility allow us to offer traditional metrology support, but it also helps us illustrate the value of metrology on a higher level, connecting machines together through PiWeb software to control and organize all quality data."

Zeiss offers measuring services, such as programming, consulting and software training at the Marlborough center which houses a wide range of Zeiss measuring technologies. The latest coordinate measuring machines, from the versatile CONTURA to the PRISMO navigator for high-speed scanning and maximum accuracy, are available for almost any requirement. The METROTOM 800 is an X-ray-based computed tomography system specifically designed for 3D metrology of small, complex, low-density parts made of plastic, composite materials or ceramic. For optical measurements, the O-SELECT digital measuring projector is ideal for easy and reliable measurements of 2D parts, and the O-INSPECT system features both optical and contact scanning for reliable 3D accuracy. There are also the latest surface, form and geometry systems to complete the measuring and demonstration capabilities.
