In my last column I outlined the process for preparing a shipment of plug gages that are being sent to an outside laboratory for calibration.

My lab does a lot of fixed limit gage calibration and I sometimes wonder how the folks who deal with it on a day-to-day basis cope with it all.

Height gages are a general purpose tool, which can be used in a variety of industries and applications by anyone who needs to measure precision parts.

Gage blocks are the most used physical representation of length available to companies requiring the highest order of precision for their work.
