Metrology Solutions Expo Features Seminars by Industry Experts

March 28, 2016

GREENVILLE, SC — During the first week of May, the world’s leading metrology companies will be demonstrating products and sharing their expertise in Greenville, SC.

The first-ever Metrology Solutions Expo, hosted by MSI-Viking Gage, will take place May 4-5 at the TD Convention Center.

The event will be headlined by world-renowned metrology equipment manufacturers Mahr, Mitutoyo and Starrett. Other exhibitors will include Easy-Metric, Heidenhain, Hexagon Metrology, IndySoft, Johnson Gage, MicroRidge, MSI-Viking Gage, NDC Technologies/Beta LaserMike, Olympus, Palmer-Wahl, Phase II+, Quality Magazine, Renishaw, Setco Precision Solutions, Solartron Metrology, Stor-Loc Modular Systems, Tohnichi, +Vantage, Vermont Gage. Witte/Alufix and Custom Equipment Co.

In addition to booth exhibits by these companies, The Metrology Solutions Expo will also feature training classes by experts in the metrology field.
Rick Lasure, Eastern U.S Metrology and Precision Sales Manager of Starrett will instruct “Visual Dimensional Inspection."

This class will discuss working with optical and video comparators, white light, laser scan measurement and applying these technologies in automotive, aerospace and medical manufacturing situations.

George Schuetz, director of precision gages for Mahr Federal, will teach “Enemies of Precision Measurement, Searching for Lost Microns." The class will address the tightening tolerances in today’s manufacturing production; and how understanding measuring processes will help you select the best gage for your application and know where to search for common measuring errors. Schuetz is co-author of the book Quality Gaging Tips.

Jeremy P. Banks will be teaching “Applying Basic Real-Time SPC – Statistical Process Control”. Banks is a data management specialist from Mitutoyo America. The class will cover SPC software usage and applications, using data to prevent scrap and waste, understanding X-Bar and R charts, pre-control charts, histograms and more.

All three classes will be taught on both days of the event, and are free to registered attendees of the event. The Metrology Solutions Expo will be May 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and May 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the TD Convention Center in the James H. Woodside Conference Center. The Woodside Conference Center entrance is most easily accessed from the entrance on Eisenhower Drive. Parking is available both across the street and adjacent to the building.
