The automotive industry depends on consistency and predictability. From the color of the paint to the stiffness of the brake, car manufacturers devote significant amounts of time and money into making sure their products look immaculate and feel safe to drive.

Screw threads are one of those important elements of mechanical design that are often taken for granted but find usage in critically important applications.

The ASQ Inspection Division will honor United States Air Force (USAF) Master Sergeant David A. Valdez as the 2020 Chuck Carter International Inspector of the Year. Valdez will be acknowledged at an award cermony to be held later this year.

At this time last year, Paul Brackman was the only person working in the Zeiss Knoxville lab—today, he’s one of four full-time Zeiss staff at the lab, along with a team working in additive software applications at the Minneapolis headquarters, and a dedicated hardware team in Germany working on additive.
